Racking Safety Training

Racking Safety Awareness Training

With our Racking Safety Training we can help your organisation adhere to the The Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) recommendations. The SEMA recommendations state that your racking is inspected regularly, frequently. This should all be done competently by your appointed (PRRS) Person Responsible for Racking Safety to ensure that all risks can be identified and assessed.

Such inspections should be undertaken weekly but their frequency can be based on factors such as the amount of damage and seriousness.

The course is designed to make either your new to or present (PRRS) aware of how to assess damage under the green, amber, red coding of all components within the racking structure and how each component works in making it safe to use during operations.

Other aspects include legislation, safe working clearances, rack protection, post installation inspections (what to look out for), the importance of load notices and specific design criteria to be achieved.

Pallet Racking Maintenance Course

This course has been designed to give your internal maintenance team more knowledge around racking safety. This is delivered through both classroom and practical demonstrations of how to undertake minor repairs and maintenance. This means damage can be highlighted within your operation by your (PRRS) Person Responsible for Racking Safety. Rather than an external professional Racking Inspector during an annual audit. This means you can complete interim inspections to ensure a safe working environment as per the H&S guide HSG76.

A certificate will be issued upon completion of the course.

You’ll also learn about the various types of racking available, how they’re manufactured, and the key elements that ensure your storage structure remains safe, suitable, and fit for purpose. We’ll also cover legislation and the responsibilities of both employees and employers when it comes to HSSE.
