Is there a certification awarded upon completion of the Racking Inspection Training Online course?

Yes. On successful completion of the Racking Inspection Training Online course, you will receive a certificate of completion from Able Racking. This provides documented evidence that you have completed the online training and developed the knowledge needed to support workplace inspections of warehouse racking systems.

The certificate confirms course completion; it is not a statutory licence or a guarantee that the holder is automatically competent to carry out every type of inspection in every workplace. The employer remains responsible for appointing suitably competent people, defining their duties and ensuring that inspections are appropriate for the warehouse racking systems, site conditions and level of risk involved.

To complete the course successfully, you will need to work through the training material and meet the course assessment requirements. The learning covers the practical principles involved in recognising damage, identifying potential hazards, understanding inspection findings and reporting issues clearly. It is designed to help participants apply the information in a controlled workplace environment rather than simply retain theoretical information.

Your certificate can be retained with your training records and shown to your employer or responsible person as evidence of the training completed. We recommend recording:

• the name of the person who completed the course;
• the course title and completion date;
• the certificate or completion reference, where provided;
• any assessment result or confirmation of successful completion; and
• when refresher training or a review of competence should take place.

Holding the certificate does not remove the need for practical site familiarisation. Inspectors should understand the warehouse layout, the types and configuration of warehouse racking installed, local operating procedures, traffic movements, loading arrangements and the reporting process used by the business. Where damage or a serious safety concern is identified, it should be reported promptly and the affected area controlled in line with the employer’s procedures.

Training records should also be reviewed when warehouse racking is altered, inspection responsibilities change, relevant guidance is updated or an individual has not carried out inspections for an extended period. A certificate is useful evidence of learning, but ongoing competence depends on applying the training correctly, following the site’s safety arrangements and seeking further guidance where an issue falls outside the inspector’s experience.
