Before appointing an inspector, ask for evidence of relevant training, experience with comparable warehouse racking, professional or scheme membership where applicable, insurance and an example of the inspection report format. It is also sensible to confirm whether the service covers a formal expert inspection, routine visual checks, a risk assessment or a repair survey, as these are related but different activities.
