Protection against vehicle and handling equipment impact
- Upright guards, end-of-aisle protection and other protective devices are correctly positioned and securely fixed.
- Guards show no damage that would prevent them from providing effective protection.
- Aisle widths and access routes are maintained for the equipment operating in the area.
- There are signs of repeated contact from forklifts, pallet trucks or other handling equipment.
- Impact damage has been reported, isolated and assessed rather than concealed or treated as cosmetic.

Decking, pallets and stored goods
- Decking, support bars, pallet supports and other load-supporting accessories are present, secure and undamaged.
- Pallets are suitable for the warehouse racking positions in which they are being used and are not broken, unstable or incorrectly oriented.
- Goods are placed fully and evenly on the intended supports.
- Loads do not project into aisles, obstruct access or create a falling-object risk.
