Overview
The Able online eLearning Rack Safety Awareness course is unique, offering 24/7 access and complete flexibility to organizations and their users—something no other Rack Safety Awareness training product provides.
Built on our proven onsite course, the platform follows industry inspection methodologies. It trains internal workers to understand key topics, such as legislation, safe working load notices, loading clearances, damage measurement, how to record damage, and much more.
However, this course is not a substitute for accredited racking inspections, which should be conducted annually as a minimum. These inspections must always be carried out by a qualified and experienced industry professional. For companies with large-scale warehouses, more frequent accredited inspections may be required, based on a risk assessment.

Features & Benefits
There’s no need to send external trainers to your site, which supports both sustainability and environmental goals.
Since most warehouse and logistics companies operate 24/7 or have staff working various shift patterns, it can be challenging to arrange training during standard 9–5 hours.
With that in mind, the eLearning course offers the flexibility to log in and out at any time, allowing employees to complete training while still prioritising their daily work tasks.
Not having to bring employees to a single location for training helps save both time and money.
For example, we recently worked with a company that operates 75 depots.
Instead of gathering everyone at head office, each branch manager completed the course online.
As a result, they avoided travel costs and were able to stay focused on their daily tasks without disruption.
The course allows you to train new starters immediately—even agency employees who may have no prior racking experience.
This ensures they gain a basic understanding of the systems in place, helping them confidently navigate their new working environment.
Additionally, you can monitor operatives’ progress and results upon course completion, providing valuable data to identify where further training may be needed.
Moreover, a Management Dashboard is available, offering companies additional insights into completed courses, time results, and more.
This feature comes with any order of 11 or more courses.
By using the methodology provided in the training, you can identify and report damage early. This approach helps prevent minor damage from becoming major issues, allowing the operation to be more proactive.
As a result, you save time and resources by addressing damage early, rather than “offloading” sections of the warehouse, which would reduce the working capacity of the affected areas.
The eLearning course trains your warehouse workers to become PRRSs (Persons Responsible for Rack Safety).
With this training, they will be able to recognise hazards and know when to offload and isolate an area if an incident occurs.
The course helps you understand how changes to the storage structure impact operations. Furthermore, it clarifies the role of each component and the damage limits associated with each area and component.

Course Accreditation
Able Racking Training is proud to have achieved ROSPA Assurance Accreditation. This means you can trust that the course content is relevant and appropriately tailored to the level of those taking the course.
How the elearning course works

Understanding Rack Safety
Each module ends with a bite-size multiple choice quiz.
Module 5 concludes with a test that scores participants out of 100%.
The pass rate is
85%
Additionally, on completion of the course and if the minimum pass rate is achieved, the individual taking the course will receive a certificate with the test result and be named as a ‘Person Responsible for Racking Safety.
Duration of course, average 1.5 hours, continual.

WHO AND WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE ELEARNING COURSE?
HR Departments
The HR Department uses the eLearning course as part of the onboarding process. In many cases, new employees or agency staff working in warehouses haven’t encountered a pallet racking system before.
Because of this, the course plays a key role in the company’s induction process for new starters.
In addition, its eLearning format makes it available instantly, so there’s no need to wait for a scheduled classroom or live training session.
As a result, employees can begin training right away, without delays or scheduling conflicts.

Training Departments
The Training Department will use this flexible eLearning course, as it covers racking—a high-risk, critical aspect of the business. During their daily tasks in the warehouse or distribution centre, many employees will rely on this course.

Health & Safety Departments
The Health & Safety Department will use this course to equip employees with the knowledge to understand the dangers of racking systems and how to protect themselves and their colleagues. It provides a thorough understanding of the nuances of these storage systems.
Additionally, if an incident occurs on-site, the Health & Safety team will conduct an investigation. One of the first things they will review is how the company manages racking and reports or replaces any damage.
NB: if there was an incident on site a Health & Safety investigation would take place and one of the first things they would investigate is how the racking is managed/and damage reported/replaced.

Finance Departments
Finance Department’s will find great benefits from investing in this course.
Spotting and repairing or replacing racking damage early can make a significant difference. It may prevent the need to replace an entire bay and only require replacing a single component.
As a result, this approach saves a considerable amount of money and helps allocate budgets for repairs, which is crucial when evaluating the capital expenditure (capex) required for comprehensive warehouse improvements.

Warehouse /Facilities Managers
Warehouse and Facilities Managers will find this course beneficial, as it helps identify damage early and address issues before they escalate. By doing so, potential hazards won’t reach the “unsafe to use” or “red risk” stage, preventing the need to completely offload a section of the racking.
Moreover, if areas require complete offloading, lead times for components can stretch up to 10-12 weeks, depending on the manufacturer. Thus, identifying damage earlier leads to both time and cost savings.
Additionally, if changes have been made internally to the racking system, this course enables managers to verify that the adjustments were made safely, allowing continued use of the area.

Environmental Managers
Environmental Manager’s will benefit as rather than having to send employees to other locations for training, having training delivered online will helps towards Carbon Footprint reduction.
